Rules-based generative systems generally reject the ideals of "creator as rebels" and "creator as free artist." In return for limiting their control over, and influence in the design process, the designer is given an efficient system for rapidly and reliably generating acceptable designs. By limiting the number and scope of choices that the creator needs to make, and by providing stock methods for interpreting phenomena, the systems make it possible to rapidly tranform initial design criteria into final designs. |
