Building the Fish

The Storage of Fish-parts in Toolboxes and Fish-sticks in Treasure-chests

This section outlines the approach taken in Toolboxes and Treasure-chests to unify and systematise knowledge relating to the generation and critique of form. It is founded on a core curriculum of tools which form the basis of most higher-level approaches to design. The higher-level tools are fitted into the framework of the core curriculum, but remain auxiliary to allow the user to explore those areas of interest to them quickly.

The third element of the metaphors is presented, though it is not officially a part of the project. It is the box of the toolbox, the chest of the treasure-chest, and the scales of the fish. Consistency, subtlety, judgement and balance.
