Things or Places

Magic of Age

Objects and places bear within and upon them the traces of history, a compressed story of everything that has happened to them. Transcribing that history, playing with it and extending it, guessing at it and reacting to it can develop considerable details in a design. Even the formal constraints of place, the building codes, contextual restrictions and the like can be used to generate new elements and ideas in a design.
