"Platonic" Forms

Simple Elements

The platonic solids are the canonical collection of simple shapes in the plastic arts. When we extend the idea of simple shapes to include any simply perceived element affecting any sense, or representing any simply understood idea, the original four platonic solids are quickly overwhelmed. Attempting to exhaustively list all the simple elements which users can detect is far beyond the scope of this project, particularly as determining the "atomic" elements in thought is an extremely difficult task. In general, simple physical elements are those which are describable through simple formulas.
